JOHN TAYLOR has been a fire-fighter since 1977, having served in Greater Manchester and North Yorkshire he recently retired in 2004.

He has given a number of very informative lectures at some of the  FIAI most recently being May 2011 where his talk was entitled “Air Track Management and the Plug” (Available in the members section)

John has been involved in fire development research since an educational visit to Sweden in 1990 and was awarded ‘A European Fire Engineering Diploma’ in 1991 by the Institution of Fire Engineers for his research paper on ‘Flashover Training’.

He also participated in the Equinox TV programme ‘Under Fire’ in 1995 and has given fire development presentations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and the United States of America.
